JOSEP ELADI BAÑOS

Medical Doctor (MD) and Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine (PhD). Rector of the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (since 2019). Professor of Pharmacology (2011). Vice-Rector for Teaching and Academic Organization (Pompeu Fabra University, 2005-2013). President of the Teaching and Training in Pharmacology Study Group of the Spanish Society of Pharmacology (2001-2009). Secretary of the Sectorial Academic Commission of Spanish Universities (CASUE) (2010-13). Director of the Margalida Comas Program for the pedagogical renewal of Catalan universities (Directorate General of Universities, Government of Catalonia, 2017-2023). In the educational field, his research focus on the application of active learning models and the use of medical humanities in health science students. He has received the third national prize for research and educational innovation (Ministry of Education and Science, 2006) and four Vicens-Vives distinctions from the Government of Catalonia for teaching innovation (2005, 2009, 2013, and 2015).

Carlo Orefice
CARLO OREFICE

Ph.D. in Anthropological Sciences. Associate Professor of General and Social Pedagogy in the Department of Social, Political, and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Siena (Italy). His current research and teaching activities focus on Adult Education, Community Pedagogy, and Care Pedagogy, with a particular emphasis on the anthropology of the body and experiences of illness. He has published works in national and international journals and is the author of various book chapters and monographs that articulate his primary research areas. General Coordinator of the international interuniversity network "Latin American Network for Social Change and Emancipatory Learning" (University of Siena, since 2020). Adjunct Professor at the UNESCO Chair. Member of the International Scientific Committee of the III World Congress on Transdisciplinarity (2020-2021). Since June 2023, he has been authorized by the Ministry of University and Research of Italy as a Full Professor in the Sector of Competence 11/D1 (Pedagogy and History of Pedagogy).
